Safety

Safety remains 7MARES’s number one priority for all activities we engaged in. 7MARES is committed to continual improvement in all aspects of performance and adheres to zero harm to people and the environment.

We undertake safety actions such as:

  • Assessment and management of risks associated with our operation to employees, the community and the environment.
  • Comply with all Mozambican statutory requirements and apply pertinent international health, safety and environmental standards reflecting our commitment to continual improvement and achieving leading industry practice.
  • Regularly review and report progress and SHE performance outcomes.
  • Consult with employees and affected parties to build relationships based on honesty, openness, mutual trust and involvement.
  • Measure success by achieving targets and being valued by our clients and communities.
  • Provide adequate and appropriately trained resources to ensure the successful implementation of this policy.

Health

7MARES is devoted to the well-being of its employees through consultation and implementation of control measures that promote such. 7MARES aims to impact positively on the surrounding community.

We undertake health actions such as:

  • Eliminate and/or minimize the potential for ill-health or injury arising from 7MARES activities or premises is minimized so as far as is reasonably practicable.
  • Identify health risks arising from our activities to enable the implementation of the necessary control measures and appropriate occupational health interventions.
  • Provide all managers and staff with health education training to promote awareness of the nature, causes, effects and appropriate management of ill-health in the workplace.
  • Encourage a culture where managers take an active interest in the health and well-being of their employees.
  • Ensure that early identification and management of work-related ill-health is implemented.
  • Enable employees to raise, discuss and resolve individual work-related ill-health issues, through the involvement of, and consultation with, the Occupational Health Service.
  • Ensure that employees who are identified as particularly at risk of ill-health from their work, or whose health affects their work, are provided with appropriate advice and support.

Environment

7MARES recognizes the potential impacts of our civil construction activities on the environment and commits to minimizing those impacts through careful identification and mitigation procedures. These may include identifying the impacts of our operations on the surrounding environment, preventing and/or minimizing pollution during activities, and complying with all relevant legal and other environmental requirements.

We take environment actions such as:

  • Preserve the environment where our work is performed.
  • Guarantee the hygiene tidiness and preservation of the installations.
  • Minimize cross contamination and control dumping of material.
  • Control and report client non-conformities regarding waste segregation.
  • Control and manage potential pollution sources and drains.
